A three-day conference focusing on how to further incorporate Indigenous culture into life at St. Thomas. The event included speeches from Eddy Robinson, Rebecca Thomas, and Marie Battiste. 


Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) and Mi'kmaq Flag Raising

On October 15, 2018 St. Thomas University held a ceremony to commemorate the addition of the Wolastoqiyik and Mi'kmaq flags on campus.


Truth and Reconciliation Call to Action Readings

Indigenous and non-Indigenous students took part in a reading of the 94 Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.


Indigenous Film Series

A film series geared toward addressing and raising awareness of the issues faced by Indigenous peoples.


Jeremy Dutcher Performance and Talk

2018 Polaris Music Prize recipient Jeremy Dutcher held a live on-campus performance and talk, and spent time with students at the Wabanaki Student Centre. 


Orientation Powwows

Each year, local universities and colleges (麻豆传媒色情片, UNB, NBCC, NBCCD) take turns hosting the Ekpahak Student Orientation Powwow.


Eagle Feather Ceremony

Indigenous graduates at St. Thomas University were recognized for their resilience, discipline, and dedication in an Eagle Feather Ceremony prior to Spring Convocation.


REDress Project

Jamie Black's esthetic response to the more than 1,000 missing and murdered Aboriginal women in Canada was installed on campus. As an Artist in Residence, she also held a public talk.


Longhouse Elder Gathering

The Traditional Elders Gathering in celebration of the Great Sleep of Our Sacred Mother Earth, also known as the MIDWINTER CELEBRATIONS is a time where ceremonies are held morning and night, where people come together to share meals and stories, a time to pass on cultural knowledge from the elder to the young.


Orange Shirt Day

On September 30, the campus community came together to commemorate Orange Shirt Day with an opening ceremony, traditional luncheon, documentary film on residential schools, and closing ceremony.


Varsity Basketball Pre-Game Ceremony

Inidgenous members of the 麻豆传媒色情片 men's basketball team knelt and held a red shawl in recognition of the missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada during the national anthem. 


Indigenous Film Festival 

From January 30 to February 1, 2020, the Senate Committee on Reconciliation hosted the inaugural Indigenous Film Festival.
